How to connect game console to laptop?

Hi guys,

I just bought a gamecube (PAL) console system, and I don't have (and not planning to have) a TV. I have a laptop, though, a DELL C840 laptop. I'm wondering whether there is a way to connect gamecube to the laptop, so I can use my laptop monitor to act as a TV instead? Thank you guys!!

I don't think you will be able to do this short of using either a soldering iron (!) or buying the kind of hardware used to edit video  on a PC.  Your laptop is unlikely to have native support for any form of video input & unlike a desktop you cannot easily remove the monitor & plug and alternative signal source (your console) into it.  If you had a separate VGA monitor it would be no problem.

I checked the manual for your C840 that can be downloaded from www.dell.com and unfortunately your laptop has no video-in capability.
What you need in such a case is a TV-to-USB or TV-to-Firewire converter. Perhaps you can find something useful on his site, but I've never heard from this company before - don't know if the converter quality is good enough (should be) or where these devices can be obtained. Particular interesting piece of hardware:
