Where should I look for reasons behind the "Event ID 9999" (Source: DNS) error on a Windows 2000 DNS Server?

I've looked there - no joy. I'm also getting an Event ID 3000 interspersed with the 9999s. Still no specific info given. MS offers nothing on their site. eventid.net suggests turning on verbose logging. i'm concerned that this will affect the server performance. guess i'll try that next. thanks for reminding me about eventid.net. i had forgotten about that resource.
