my /usr/bin/ftp must access internet via a proxy server

when i want lynx  (console mode http client)   to browse the web through our proxy server i edit    /etc/lynx.cfg
by adding these lines

"ftp_proxy = http://myproxyserver:8021"
"http_proxy = http://myproxyserver:8080"   ok !?

NOW, i need my console_mode ftp_client ( /usr/bin/ftp  )
 to access internet via  my proxy server

how can i do this !??
i didn't find any configuration file about this

I don't see anything that indicates that ordinary ftp can use a proxy. But ncftp can (and it's nicer and more feature rich than ftp). If you don't have ncftp installed it is likely to be included with your Linux distribution or you can get source or pre-built binaries from http://www.ncftp.com/. The proxy is enabled by editing ~/.ssh/firewall after you've used ncftp for the first time (see 'man ncftp' for more information).
