For a Microsoft Network, How to get the Banner page to print with the UserName, HP LaserJet

I believe that the network is Windows 2000 server, they have HP Laserjet printer with built in JetDirect card.... I did this about 8 years ago on a Novell Netware system.... I cannot seem to recall how to get it to print the Banner page.

What the top executive of the client company wants is that every print job should be superceded by a Banner page for the username.

They have Windows 2000 server, and HP LaserJet printer with Jetdirect....
I believe the printer is 2100 or 2200 .

I need to implement this solution on Friday morning, November 7th.

I would appreciate a speedy response.

I did find and download, and install the WebJetadmin software directly to the Win 2000 server.

They have about 15 users total.

Thank you very much.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

On the server, go to to Printer Properties, click on the Advanced tab, then on the Separator Page button, and select one of the default pages (e.g. PCL.SEP). They live in WINNT/System32, and can be modified to suit your requirements.

For more info on separator pages and how to modify them, see Microsoft's KnowledgeBase Article 102712 on
