getURL from tweening-to-fade animation

I have built an animation of seven products that fade in and out. (On each of 7 layers I placed an image in four keyframes. The color of the first and the last were set to alpha: 0 and all keyframes were tweened. Each layer plays, in sequence, another product). Now I want the user to be able to click on any one of the 7 product images and be linked to a page of information about that product. How should I do this? Could someone please point me to a tutorial on how to produce something like this? I've browsed so much of the help files I'm cross-eyed and don't know where to start.

If you want to read some of the details:

I made sure that every instance was a button instance, and I attached action code to each one (with variatons on the id=###):

on (release){
getURL("http://www.beaconsglow.com/Category.asp?id=148", "self");
}

I put the action on the first frame of each animation sequence (which is color=alpha 0), on the second (color=none), on the third (color=none), and no action on the last keyframe (color=alpha 0).

You can see on http://beaconsglow.com/slideshow/bg_anim5a.html that the links work on the first (woolly bear), and the last three products (cluster of bears, three dolls, and blonde doll in black dress). The links do not work on the other three items. I have made sure the code was identical for all items, and that each instance is a button symbol....

Despite being certain that every instance is a button symbol, when I publish, I get these error messages (they pertain to the last two images in the sequence.)

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=wakeen, Frame=180: Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release) {

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=ginny, Frame=180: Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release) {

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=wakeen, Frame=185: Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release) {

Scene=Scene 1, Layer=wakeen, Frame=210: Line 1: Mouse events are permitted only for button instances
on (release) {

All advice will be much appreciated!!! Thanks in advance.

Hi. Thank you for your response. I don't see a way to post files here on teh Expert Exchange, but you will find it on http://beaconsglow.com/slideshow/bg_anim5a.zip (http://beaconsglow.com/slideshow/bg_anim5a.html) and http://beaconsglow.com/slideshow/bg_anim5d.zip
(http://beaconsglow.com/slideshow/bg_anim5d.html)

The 5d version works better, but not perfectly. The Actions were removed from the timeline, but the second (boy/girl dolls) and forth products (long-haired blonde doll) still do not show the links they should have.

I have resolved the problem!! Thank you for your interest in helping me. The problem was that I did not have the actions attached on every keyframe in the animation sequence.

Good deal!

I'll request that this be PAQ'd and pts refunded.  Glad it's working.

Hi,

I think ur problem is cuz u have put the code on the frame in wich the movieclip or button is and not on the button or movieclip itself,
remove the code and try to rightclick on the movieclip or button and choose actions.

good luck,
