I have a Windows 2000 server that is setup to be a www, ftp, and DNS server and have 4 available IP addresses for this server.  Also have 2  domain names (enzymemultimedia.com, and usposting.com) that is register at two different registar.  One domain name works and the other don't. The domain that works have domain forwarders setup on their DNS server. The other one don't work because I have to provide my own DNS server. Basically, usposting.com don't work.

Problem:  On one of the Registar where domain forwarding isn't available, I can't point to my web hosting server's IP because I need a DNS server. I can't seem to set this up.

Can anyone be nice enough to give me a step by step instructions on how to setup my DNS server up correctly. I just want to be able to type  www.usposting.com and be able to see my page on Internet Explorer.

Thanks...

Thanks for the quick response. But i have I went through that already and I'm still loss. This is my first time using DNS so I don't know if I have configured my server correctly or configured my zone correctly. Can you help me by giving me a step by step instructions on what entries I would need to add a Zone that will direct  www.usposting.com to my webserver ?

Thank You...

when I go to  www.usposting.com
I get USposting is under construction
Is this what you have on your server now?
If so, it's working
this is the ip I get for uspostin.com
216.240.140.202
Is that yours?

Thanks for trying to help me out Stevenlewis.   I appreciate it very much. I have managed to get it working now and have finally been able to register my DNS server now so I'm good to go.  Just one other question if you don't mind answering.

If i go to http://www.usposting.com, my site shows up fine. But if I go to http://usposting.com, then my site don't show up at all. How can i get www.usposting.com and  usposting.com to go to my site ?

Thanks...
