Unreal Tournament - Connection failed

Hi! I recently downloaded Unreal Tournament (from some site). I dont know the version yet but I guess it is the version before 2003. This game works perfectly but I cannot play Online. Every server i click on gives me the same error: Connection failed.
I have been lookin out on the internet but couln't find anything.

Ps I have a hardware-firewall and a DSL connection

Please help me! I just wanna play online!

Well, as it seems you have not obtained the game legally there is no way we can help you. Prove you own the game first.

thanx for your response. I have allready heart of some classmates that it aint possible to play unreal online if I don't have a legal version.

Well, thanks for the points. To save you some trouble in the future, please read the EE posting rules when it comes to copyright. Also (I'd like to give some info to make this answer worth the points at least partially :), you can obtain keys for games like Quake 2, Halflife (Counterstrike, Halflife itself, Day Of Defeat use the same key), Unreal Tournament really cheap, they should be the equivalent of 10-15 €/$ right now depending on where you reside.

Hello everyone my case is really similar to the preview one, with the only difference were my version it is an original version of unreal gold tournament  and everythings runs great with the game but when it comes to play online i get the same message "connection failed" and it's sad i do have a dsl moden with a fire wall running on a XP version 2004 top of the line computer so I really need some help here.

georgeperu,

you should open up a new question by yourself. The problem is probably your firewall prohibiting internet access for Unreal. Check which ports you have to open in your firewall (you can find this info in the manual).
