MySQL and ASP support in MX 2004

Hi all,

A quick question I hope you can help with....... I am used to using Dreamweaver (ASP) with Access and MsSQL Databases, however i have been given a MySQL DB to connect to.

Firstly, can I use it with my ASP pages? If so, how...

I can connect to the DB fine using a dsn or a custom string, the connection test is fine,  however according to Dreamweaver there are no tables in the DB?!

Do I need an extension to support ASP and MySQL perhaps??

Any advice gratefully recieved.

Cheers for the answers guys,

I can connect to the database OK....

I take it then, that if I have a MySql DB that my pages have to be written in PHP when using Dreamweaver? I know that ASP can talk to MySql ok, Is there not an extension available for Dreamweaver or something that I can use to support ASP and MySQL?

Cheers

Hmm.. I have never used ASP and MySQL in combination, but I think I've fuond something to help you out. It seems Macromedia has a dev center specifically for asp(.net). Look at it, it might have what you need.

Thanks klykken, you are right.... from reading that site it seems native asp and MySql support doesnt exist, but when using .net this issue is overcome... i've tested using .net and can see the tables, query the DB and receive results etc. etc... thanks for your help again...
