unable to start 6.5 services on nt4 error 1105, event id 17060

hi i have  6.5 sql on nt 4 trying to get the services started to restore a db but upon starting the sqlserver service i get a event id 17060, it says in log file that it cant allocate spae for syslogs, failed to create tempdb , error 1105

and in the service window when you try to start the service it fails and a dialog pops up with error, event id 2140

?any ideas?

You have got enough space on the partition SQL is installed on, i.e. the drive where the tempdb resides

no there is plenty of space 234mb

If you're not already then get the latest service pack for SQL 6.5 as there is a similar issue in SP1 resolves:;en-us;153096&Product=sql
