Firebox II Software

Hello all,

I have a Watchguard Firebox II, and somebody misplaced the CD with the management software.  I need to reinstall this software onto my PC, but watchguard will not release it (even and old version) unless you have an active support plan (which costs the same as a new firewall).  Does anybody know where I can get it?

I don't think anyone here is going to just offer you a copy (as this is a public forum) and it is against the rules to post your email address here, so nobody is going to email you.

Your best bet might be to try some other forum, or mailing list, where people might be more able to conatctf you directly.

Given the purpose of the software, I doubt that you would find it for download on any warez sites or the like either.

To the moderators: yes I know what I just said is probably borderline. I am not advocating the use of pirated/cracked/downloaded software. If the person has lost the software, then they need to get another copy of it from somewhere else as the vendor is not playing ball. In this case, obtaining a copy of the software from elsewhere would be equivalent to having their own backup copy (which I agree,  they should have had). They are licensed to use the software, they just had the misfortune of losing the CD.

Throw away your watchguard box!!!
I spent almost 1.5 years trying to get vpn to work with them.
They are a horrible company!!! Although they eventually gave us a partial refund.  We went and bought a pix and it was up in less than a day!!!!
I know this may seem like bashing, but it is mearly the truth!!!!
We also had issues with backups from machines in our DMZ.  Again WAtchgurad could not resolve this issue
Good Luck

Yes we haven't been using the Watchguard for about two years now.  I just found it in a closet and wanted to see if I could get it repaired.  It's kind of hard to throw away an overpriced red box like that.  I switched to Sonicwall and have had zero problems.  I now have approx. 12 Sonicwalls altogether and they all work flawlessly.
