How to create access code for CD

Hi all,

I developed a Project in VB and Access. I have created the setup file and kept on a CD. now i would like to add some security to the CD by having a code protection, before installing it on the system it should ask for the code or it would be better if the CD can be used only for once. It must be a single use CD.

Help me out..

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

1) it is NOT possible to make a CD one-time only.  If that WERE possible, then Microsoft and ALL other software vendors would have already done it, to prevent software piracy.  If someone could come up with a way to do it, they would almost INSTANTLY become richer that Bill Gates, so no, that can't be done.

2)clearly the technolgy to add security, as in a CD Key, or other type of password, already exists, as most software vendors use such a system.  When you install Microsoft Office, for instance, you must provide the proper 25 character CD-Key to enable the installaton.  There are many comercial packages available to provide such a capability.  I would suggest checking

http://www.google.com  and search for Software Protection tools and you find LOTS of possibilties.
