Does you camera have the capabilites for pan and tilt or is it something that you are planing on rigging up
because if it is set up to do these things already then somewhere you should find a dll ro ocx to do these tasks
if not you would need to connect it up via serial or parallel port and then you can run it through there
there is stacks of info on serial and parallel connections onthe net

Thank you Mr. Jonothan Tompson for the reply. The scenario is im planning to buy a surveillance camera w/ pan/tilt/zoom capabilities but i wanna customize it using my own vb program. Also the camera is wireless. I juss wanna ask if there is any activex (universal) that will do the those function. Can you give some link here regarding your idea posted above. Tnx

I dont think that there would be a universal control to do such a job, if you have the know the brand of camera that you plan on buying then go the old google search on it and you may be able to find the information on the files and if you are lucky they may have a developers kit.
If you want post the brand and series and i might be able to help out on that.

Greetings!

Thank you again Mr.Jonothan Tompson. I've search some cameras that would fit to my project but all of them doesn't offer sdk. They're offering their own package software. That's why im taking chances here to knew if there is one that could manipulate such product particularly those i've mention. i'm very interested w/ vanguard wireless camera by x10 i guess. I hope u can help me w/ this.

Well here the plot thickens, probably your best bet is to get into contact with the makers ( yay the run around ) and try and find out all the information you can about what their program includes, because i would say that their program has some associated files like dll's or ocx's, this may be your only option.
From what i have seen and the cameras that I have looked at some of them have a webserver inbuilt into them. It would probably be messy but if you ended up getting one with a webserver you could always download the images and display them in a pic box and use a the web page control to send the commands. Thats messy but would probably work.

If you could could you please post some of the modles that you have looked at and i may be able to help you further
