reading large files

I need to read a large text file.  The coldfusion documentation says cffile will crash the server if the file is too large.  Indeed it didn't work.  Are there any custom tags which let you read smaller portions of a text file?  I'm working in cf 5 and windows 2000.

Hi,

how big is the file you are trying to read? A couple of megabytes should not be a problem. Does it crash the server or does it just not work??
