Netopia R7100 with Cable modem

OK, my office has an "extra" Netopia R7100 SDSL router that I can have for free.  I currently have a cable modem at home.  I would like to know if it is possible to have it setup this way:

COAX cable into Cable Modem, Ethernet cable out of cable modem and into Netopia Router.  Subnet from the netopia router to my network.

My question is also, how do I configure the Netopia router to look for a dynamic IP from the cable modem?  Do I leave the IP at 0.0.0.0 and will that make it look for an IP dynamically?  Also, what about DNS?  Can I leave it at 0.0.0.0 and it will look for my ISP's DNS?

Thanks!

I don't think so.
The Netopia is has an SDSL interface, its looking for a DSL signal, not an ethernet signal the cable modem is sending out.  Although the Netopia is a "router", its basically a DSL modem that routes.

Y es that should work..
most dsl routers have a web interface and it will allow you to choose dhcp over a static ip or ppoe....
