I can't seem to execute .cgi scripts in IIS5 in Windows 2000 server. If i rename it to .pl extension, it works. Is it possible to run .cgi scripts in Win2000 server or do i have to rename all the .cgi files to .pl files. I have read through similar problems on the forums and there isn't a clear answer.

When i go in the properties for the website in IIS, I have associated .cgi with perl.exe but it always time out when trying to browse the script with Internet Explorer.  I have installed Active Perl 5.6.1.  I notice that there is a perl.exe, perl5.6.1.exe and have associated .cgi files to both of them and neither works.

Any help would be appreciated.
