Automatic email with php and mysql.

I'm running PHP and a mysql database on Unix.

I need to send an automatic email each day with information gathered from the database and clean up the database with non active users.

I've done this before with MS SQL server but MySQL isn't able to do server jobs. And my knowledge of Unix isn't that good to write a script that makes this possible.

Does anyone have an idea in which direction I have to look in order to make this work.

Thx in advance
