I'm looking to store GPS data.  I need to know what is the best way to store the grm, dbf, shp, and shx files created so they can be uploaded back to a GPS system.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Storing files can either be accomplished by storing the files on the server and the paths to the files in the database, or by storing the files in BLOB columns. Which approach to use depends on your app and programming language.

A VB example is at www.vbmysql.com/articles/blobaccessvb.html
