one morning i started one of my computer, i notice that it won't start, so i press reset to boot up again.  then it just shutdown like the HD power stop making any light.  and it smell like burnt wire, so i unplug the power off the wall.  waited for half hour to start the computer, it won't start at all.  so i remove the power supply and replace it with working one.   the computer won't start at all . so i removed the CD-rom, Floppy, and HD from power, the cpu fun started working, so i turn off the computer and plug the cd-rom, floppy, and hd, then it didn't start again.  so i removed the cd, it didn't work also, so i unplug the hd, it started again. so the i found the problem,  its the HD 40gig seagate.  so i removed the 40gid HD and change to a Slave drive and tried to put it on my other computer so i can get the file i need from it,  but when i put the HD 40gig seagate on my other computer, it won't start either.  i'm not sure what's going on,   if you guys/girls ever experience this problem or know what i should do next is please email me ASAP, because the HD 40gig has a lot of my file i need.  henrykiss@hotmail.com

If you can get ahold of another HD, JUST LIKE this one, you might be able to swap the controller logic card and get the data off that way. If you try this, be VERY CAREFUL with the little ribbon cable.
