I'm looking forward to upgrading my sound system...

what I have by now:
2 Bose bookshelf speakers 60 W each.
Sound Blaster Live - stereo output.

I'm having trouble deciding on something* (i do not know what to use)
an amplifier, pre-amplifier, receiver...

what would be the best choice for a 5.1/7.1 suround system that will be buil over the years.
all I'm looking for (at least for the moment) is some sort of device that would let me play the music I have on the computer on the Bose speakers at their capacity.

some clarification would be wonderful. some links to read more about it even better.
please ask me for info if you need it. I do not know what specification you need to make an educated guess/suggestion.

thanks a lot

I have 100w speakers connected to my system and I use a standard amp, this allows me to have full access to the 100w
