I've been using GetDataBack NTFS for years and have recovered data simply from a dozen drives.  Mount the drive to be recovered as a slave and transfer your stuff to the master.
I've tried this myself, and the tool I had didn't recover everything properly, only the newest files, so you better do this fast and choose the right tool. Some tips from people is valuable here I think, cause failing many times might make it harder to recover them in a proper state. I used Disk Commander myself, a nice tool, but as I said didn't recover all files properly.
Ontrack Easy Recovery works great... but only if you have'nt overwritten the data. If you have then keep trying the list!
If the Data in question is absolutely vital to you... send it out  to a professional... otherwise, you risk losing some or all of the contents in which you need to recover.
