Return value from vb exe

How can we return a value from a Vb exe
as we have only unload me or end to close an application

As we do in a simple c code
int main()
if (param1 == 1)
    return 2 ;
return 1;

1. you can write to a text file and read the output (prefered if integrating with ERP systems)
2. use ExitProcess API (prefered thro batch files)
