Making a navigation button call a mysql query instead of a link

Hi everyone,
I am new to DW and web design in general. I have started to get comfortable with connecting to mysql queries and all while using the form as the source and creating a Server behaviour.

What I would like to do more importantly is to have 3 navigation buttons creating a query and displaying the results of the query on the same page. For example, NEW, OLD, DEL nav buttons, I want the NEW button to run a query that will ONLY select the NEW records, and the OLD nav button to select ONLY the OLD records and so on to be displayed in a table.
I was wondering if anyone can point me to the right direction of doing that.
I hope the explanation of my problem is clear. I am using DW MX 2004.

Thank you

clekkas You need to Create a Variable AND pass it to the same page to test the value.
For example lets say we have a variable called "actions"

when you click on NEW button pass its value to the same page

a href="this_page.asp?actions=NEW"

now in your page detect the value of actions variable

if request.QueryString("actions")="NEW" then
'sql here
elseif request.QueryString("actions")="OLD" then
'Sql for OLD here
else
' Default SQL
end if

Lemme know if you have any questions.
