CONNECT INTERBASE (Easysoft IB7) VIA ODBC (POWERBUILDER 8.0 DESKTOP)

I am using PowerBuilder 8.0 Desktop and want to connect to Interbase via ODBC.

If someone already did it please let me know to safe my time. THANKS

Bhatti,

All odbc connections work the same way.

1) Define ODBC DSN (Datasource Name) that points to Interbase.
2) Goto "Start/Run". Run odbcad32.exe from commnad prompt.
3) Select System Tab.
4) If you have the odbc drivers for interbase already installed then they should show up in the list.
5) Define Connection Parameters and remember the DSN name.

Now goto PB and create a new ODBC profile pointing to the DSN that you just created using "ADBC Administrator".

I find out the answer and sorry I forgot to write that I am using PB 8.0 Desktop.

Using the Desktop we cannot connect to any other database.

Hmm.. I thought PB 8.0 desktop version can connect to any database using ODBC. Oh well, thats life... what can we do?

Thats life...
I thought before also but then I read deeply the documentation and is written that only the SQL AnyWhere and other sheets and others files to use as database.

Anyhow thanks to you and all.
