How do you display a "My Computer" security zone that in the IE in the Security dialog

We use javascript to write to file with success in our local file system but we do not appear to be able to disable the ActiveX warning box. We have heard that there may be a way to activate and place the "my Computer" zone in the IE  Security dialog. From here the settings can be easily edited. I have tried to edit the registry to all enable options for "my computer" with no success. The problem is that it is just a nusciance all the time clicking yes in the activeX control box.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I have tried these sites but with no success as the first is more for Office and the second site does not provide a functional editor (which the site warns about)

That warning box for Active X control installation is there for a reason.

I write my own scripts using ActiveX, when uploaded to my interent site I can add this site as a trusted site and can deactivate the ActiveX warning. When I save a page from my site to my hard disc and access the page the warning will keep coming up. Either someone needs to tell me how to enter a page such as C:/my documents/my page.html to the trusted sites (already tried but keep getting error messages must be in the form //**.com etc) or how to activate the my computer icon in the IE6 security box. The site http://www.updatexp.com/tip18.html seems simple but it does not work.

I have just given up and just store the pages that I want to use Active X on an intranet web server and then have just added this to the list of trusted sites. A little more cumbersome but life goes on!
