Windows 2000 desktop shortcuts

can not get any of the desktop sshortcuts to work. can not right click on them and click open either how can i fix this

First of All
Anti-Virus... Do you have one? is it UP TO DATE?

Next is your PC UP TO DATE
Windows Update dot com...

Now check this out...
Start
Run
sfc /scannow
this will check your system files that could have been corrupted

Thanks I do know that but i do not mind rewarding people for attempts. and i really do appreciate your suggestion and have written that in my little book of things to remember when onsite
