Unable to perform synchronization on Sony Clie

Hello,

I am having a couple problems with a Sony Clie PEG-SJ22 handheld performing synchronization with a Windows XP Professional Computer.  When I go to do a HotSync on the PDA, the following dialog box comes up on the PC:

"The desired user has not been configured in the Intellisync for Sony CLIE application."

When I go to look for Intellisync on the Start Menu, there's a folder called Intellisync Lite.  In there is a program called Intellisync Configure.  When I run that program I cannot find any option to specify the user, so I don't know how to make this error go away.

I did try uninstalling and reinstalling the Clie Desktop. When I did this I was able to select the user's name during install.  Performing a hotsync produced the following error dialog:

"Unable to load synchronization DLL; select OK on configuration dialog."

This error dialog comes up four times during the synchronization.  When I went back into the Clie desktop install program I selected the "Repair" option, after the completion of which and a subsequent attempt to synchronize I got the first error--"The desired user has not been configured in the Intellisync for Sony CLIE application."

Could anyone please help me here?  This user's PDA is essentially useless unless this problem is solved.

Follow this procedure to configure the PumatechTM Intellisync® Lite software.

On the computer, start the Intellisync Configure utility.
In the Users window, click to select the desired user name and then click the OK button.
NOTE: If only one user account exists, the Users window will not appear and a user will not need to be selected. If this is the case, the utility will open directly to the Intellisync - Configuration window.

In the Intellisync - Configuration window, under Sony CLIÉ Applications:, click to select the application to configure.
Click the Choose button.
In the Choose Translator window, click to select the name of the desired translator.
Click the OK button.
In the Intellisync - Configuration window, click the OK button.

Downloading and reinstalling the Palm desktop plus reinstalling and configuring Intellisync seems to fix the problem.  Thanks for your help.
