Creating a dynamically updatable moving alert message

Hi,

I am currently developing a site that requires a dynamic text field to repeatedly scroll(move) across approx. 3/4 of the movie. I've tried to embed a dynamic text field within a movie clip and use a mask but whenever I try that the text field won't pick up the variable from the text file. I've ben able to get what I want using static text but when I tried to make it dynamic the text just wouldn't show up. Has anyone out there done something like this before and if so how?

If the text appears without the mask, and not with it, the problemi is with font outlines embedding:

The text just doesn't appear at all, even if I don't use a mask. Maybe I'm just missing something really simple but whenever I try to embed dynamic text within a movie clip it won't display. If I cut and paste the same text field to a layer on the main timeline it will appear. I've tried calling loadVariablesNum("path",0) from both the main timeline and within the clip and that didn't work either.

How are you loading this text, at the time?

Do it as
myMovieClip.createTextField (instanceName, depth, x, y, width, height)

if you are already doing so then there are two posibilities firstlly the depth.
give some heigher depth because it might be adding the testbox but
due to low depth its not visible.
secondlly though i think this won't be the case but
myMovieClip.instanceName._visible = true;
please tell us how exactlly are you loading the text boxes.
