Out Box Not Emptying

Using XP Home and Outlook Express, messages with attachments are not going to sent mail.  They stay in the out box.  The recipient however, does receive the email.  It only happens if there is an attachment. This happens regardless of what account I send from.  I've deleted the account and started from scratch, but still have the same problem. This just started happening today.  Steve

u might be having some damaged folders. in this case it may be outbox.
try to find some files like outbox.dbx, delete this file.
and restart the outlook.
everything should be ok by now.

Greetings, swis!

Did you have a recent update of Internet Explorer and Outlook Express?  If so, uninstall it. Perform a system restore to day when sending mail with attachment worked.

Shivsa,

I believe the question is about outlook express .. Just for your information..

Thanks,
Sunray
Hi Sunray,

it is a general problem with damaged folder, it may be in outlook express or outlook.
i had this problem some time back and solved like this where my mails keep staying in outbox.

It has a very good chance applying this will solve the problem.

thanks
Shiv

We've done a search for outbox.dbx and just outbox, even for hidden files, and nothing is found.  A system restore back to Monday didn't help.  Thanks for the help so far.  Steve
Did you have any recent updates of IE or OE?  Uninstall them.

Thanks Sunray.  The link gave some suggestions, on of which was to create a new identity then import your old info.  Worked like a charm.  Everyone's help is very much appreciated.  Steve
