A co-worker sent me a tool to use but when I try to install it on my desktop PC this error message comes up: The JVM could not be started. I can get the tool to work on my lap top but would rather work it on my desktop. Thanks. JARousey

do you have Java installed on your system? it seems you should have it to run your tool.
If you have it installed, check if it was installed properly:
check for JAVA_HOME envioronment variable, it must ne set, and point to your java installation folder.
if you use Windows, there might be problems with registry records, may be you should reinstall Java.

It's either your java virtual machine is corrupted or the program is corrupted
Before you could use a jar file of java you need to have a good and working
JVM Try downloading the latest JVM at :

     http://java.com/en/index.jsp
