I am getting this error in my Windows 2000 Server sp4 event log.

Event Source:      Service Control Manager
Event Category:      None
Event ID:      7023
Date:            11/21/2003
Time:            5:57:17 PM

Computer:      GAMMA
Description:
The OracleOraHome81Agent service terminated with the following error:

Does anyone know what is going on.

Server Specs:

Windows 2000 Server w SP4
2.4 GHz Xeon
512 MB Ram

I am only running oracle 8i  on this server.

Can you check the log file nmiconf under $ORACLE_HOME\Network\log folder. It may help

Another way is backup and delete the services.ora and all *.q file under $ORACLE_HOME\Network\agent and then start the service.
