Defragmenter errors out when ran

Hello,

Whenever I run defragmenter, an error instantly pops up.  The error is dfrgntfs.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.  You will need to restart the program.

This computer is fairly new, therefore I do not believe the drive is heavily fragmented.  I tried running the utility under the administrator account, but still had the same problem.

I greatly appreciate any help!  I'm puzzled.

Try running the defragmenter in safe mode.

That always helps me.
