i'm planning to develop a chat system in winsock . Is there any good reasons that i should use vb6 to develop ? except for the easiness ?

i need some details in it . cos i'm dilema, dunno which languages to be used

Well,

I suggest you use VB in general. Anyway you don't need any special speed improvement.

You could use even VB5 if you want (as I don't see any difference between VB5 and VB6 for winsock).

It is quite easy to develop. There are a lot of sample code you could use.

vb6 is the best thing to use for winsock applications, unlink c++ you can just run it rather than compiling and use the debug.print to track where the program is and see where any communications porblems occur
