Which Macromedia products should I use?

I have never used macromedia products before, but I would like to start.  Currently I am running a Java web application with an SQL Server and a BEA Weblogic in the middle.

I'd like to replace the Java application with a Flash application.

What would be the best way to connect a Flash application to my SQL Server?

Please answer in great deal

Thanx in advance

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The Java application is able to display, insert, update and delete information in the database

You make it sound so easy.

Have you done this before?

Don't get me wrong, it does have a learning curve like any other webdev prog.

Yes, I have, however none available - there are lots of examples available on the web. I'll dig around and see if I can find some of my older intro examples.

This is a great place to start:
