I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Sadly that didn't help.

But I have worked out what was wrong, the partion was just near to full.  Move some files which where not neaded any more and restarted serves and at started and it is working fine.
Has Powershell sent you back into the Stone Age?

If managing Active Directory using Windows Powershell® is making you feel like you stepped back in time, you are not alone.  For nearly 20 years, AD admins around the world have used one tool for day-to-day AD management: Hyena. Discover why.

Are you still running exchange 5.5 sp2. You should upgrade your sp2 to sp4 ASAP. Do you know why your partition was full and where di you delete it the files from ? hope you did not delete your exchange transaction log files such as 00..log, 001.log.

Are you backing up the exchange database to flush your log files and commit the changes to the database ? Iam asking these questions, cause you can go back to the same problem before you kow it.

cheers bro
