I am trying to make a symbol of a text box which has dynamically text from a external textfile.  This I do by loadvariablenum() and in the textbox _root.var1.

No probs.

But I can seem to make it obtain an alpha.  I mean, I can make the symbol alpha set to 22%, but it doesnt take affect.

Any Ideas?

Thank you

You have to embed font outlines to apply alpha effect.

Flash 5: http://www.negatyve.com/EE/flash5_embedchar.html
FlashMX: http://www.negatyve.com/EE/flashMX_embedchar.html
