I have a MySQL database that I am designing in ERWin. I would like to use the ForwardEngineer option but unfortunately MySQL is not supported as a database type for the physical model.

Of the following db types, which would require the least amount of corrections to the DDL script file in order to generate a MySQL database? (which is the closest to MySQL?)

AS/400
DB2
ingres
Oracle
SAS
teradata
Interbase
PROGRESS
SQL Server
HiRDB
INFORMIX
Rdb
SQLBase
Sybase
Red Brick

...and what are the slight differences I would need to change?

Thanks!

Hi illucid,

i'd suggest sql server....

each time you discover a mismatch you can then tailor erwin via it macros...
etc i believe to rectify the syntax....

not used erwin for a while....

Cheers!
