Need Button to both Refresh and Reload Frame in MX

I have a basic website navigation bar at the top of my flash movie.  The same navigation bar propagates through out the entire site.  It could pass as an html site; pretty standard stuff.

Anyway, I have had a nagging problem that I need to figure out.  The menu buttons at the top jump the movie to a frame on the SAME timeline and that frame loads an external swf.  The problem is that if the user wants out of the external swf, but hits the same top menu button the timeline doesn't jump (because its already on that frame) and it appears as if the button is disabled.  What i need is the button to essentially reload that frame again (by reloading the external swf, again).  The code on the buttons is

on (release) {
      gotoAndStop("resume");
}

So when the person is somewhere in the externall loaded swf and wants to go back to the original swf that loaded "resume" the first time, nothing happens?

any ideas on a simple fix that will preserve the action of the button so that i can use the same buttons in all the website and only load them once?
