Hi,

I recently upgraded one of the office PC from WIndows Me to Win XP Pro. Beofer formating the PC I had copied the Outlook Express folder, containing all the "dbx" files on to a seperate server folder also exported were the address book

Now after installing XP Pro, When i try to import messages back to the Outlook Express the follwoing happens

1. I select the export option as from OLE 6 folder and select the server folder where i have all the dbx files
2. After I select all folders and press OK, it immediatly says "Congratulation your folders were imported successfully"
3. but when I open Outlook Express, the folder structure has been imported but no emails are shown in the folders, all are empty
4. I tried manually copying the files on to the Outlook Express folder in the PC, after copy is done when i open the Outlook Express it shows inbox contains some 100 unread...but as soon as i click on inbox it again becomes empty

Does any one know whats wrong
pls help

Greetings, sreejithmc!
Check the properties of the copied dbx files.  Make sure they are not Read-Only.  If they are Read-Only, uncheck that property setting.

Hopefully, those dbx files have not become corrupt. If they are, you need DBXpress to see them
