i humbly request u to post comments on this issue.

i don't want to use any third party s/w for connection....
i hav WIN-XP on both sides now and i want to connect the systems without any internet connection....instead, only with dialing the destination number thru modem...
both are standalone systems....i hav gone thru the RAS SERVER process, but i didn't get an idea how to do...so can u pls tell me the steps in detail what i hav to do on both side 4 getting a connection...
i need a connection just like as a client in network, is it possible ?. if yes pls help me by giving the full steps what i hav to do..

RAS is Microsoft's remote access server. It will answer the telephone line and establish a ppp connection with the caller, just as if you were calling an ISP.

WIth XP answering the call though, no RAS builtin, no?
Maybe in this case you should be looking at a third party comm application.
zmodem script or somthing like http://www.ab-archive.com/English/programmalle/english7950.htm
