FileMaker Pro 6.0 crash - now it won't load past splash screen

Please help. A user had FileMaker Pro 6.0 crash yesterday, and now when she tries to open up FMP all it does is show the splash screen - doesn't seem to be loading any modules - and then the program closes.

I tried reinstalling it, but I only get the same problem.

And yes, weed, I have already tried to repair disk permissions and fsck'ed ;).

Any suggestions?

also, a minor (?) correction. filemaker pro did not crash; internet explorer locked up while FMP was open and she rebooted her machine. after the reboot, FMP would not boot correctly.

OS 9 or OS X? Youre talking about permissions, and extensions. Permissions is OS X, extensions is OS 9. Clarify.

OS X. 10.2.8, to be exact. Sorry. I should have said the same problem is encountered when I start up in "safe boot" mode by holding down shift during startup.

Try using Cocktail to delete Cache files etc. Also hose the FMP preferences file.
