What is an 'inverted list' database.  Someone recently refered to one and I have never heard of them before.

not sure ...

isn't it really just a type of index
with partivular reference to document cataloguing etc...

so that the words / phrases that you wish to index are stored

in a structure

like


id,  Phrase,  Document References  (together with frequency counts) ?
