Turning Off Powerbook Screen

I recently purchased a G4 Powerbook and am using an LCD external monitor with it...problem is that I want to turn off the screen on the laptop while I ma using the larger LCD...F7 key seems to only switch it back and forth from mirror mode...The other interesting thing is that when I plug the external monitor in to the laptop...when in mirror mode the wallpaper defaults to the Apple default blue...

Thanks,

I have both the wireless mouse and keyboard...tried what you said...closed the lid...laptop went asleep...and would not wake up when lid was closed...

I don't have that option as both are Wireless...what if you turn off the sleep mode...will the display go off upon closing the lid...just a thought...

Called Apple Support today...you need to go to System Pref...Bluetooth...and make sure that "allow Bluetooth Accessories to wkaeup laptop"...then you can close the lid and it works.

kmanno,

Thanks for the tip, works great for me with Al 15" PB. Are there heat issues to worry about?

Thanks.
