Problem, plz help

What can be wrong when partition magic says Error #109: Partition ends after end of disk. ucEndCylinder (19456) must be less than 16709?
When i use the drive my computer freezes. I have windows xp pro with sp1, with one ibm 40gb hd and another samsung 160gb, the error occurs on the samsung device. and also i have a promise hard disk controller.

When does this happens / (started to happen)?
Did the Samsung ever worked correctly?

I happened after i mounted an cd image with virtual deamon. Yes it worked fine before that.

This is weird ... normally this can't be a hdd error, it's unlikely that daemon tools or similar software to modify your partition info. It sounds more like a OS issue.
Do you have another computer in which to check if the drive is ok?  If the drive has some problems, I'll paste here an annoying big list of tools for checking/repairing/recovery.
If the OS is the problem , first I recommend uninstalling (at leat temporarly) daemon tools or whatever soft you've used to mount the image.
What happened when you mounted the CD image ? Was the drive still accessible before rebooting? Did the computer locked or what?

Ok, i have done some investigation. It seems now that the computer freezes only when i move or copy anything that is on the hard disk. I would be grateful if u could give me a list of checking/repairing softwares.

Ps. I dont wanna format my drive :(
