Hello Everybody,
We are looking for a freeware or a tool that allows us to know the number of printouts done by our Users. The report could be by IP address, PC Lan Name or Username.
Our System is based on a Printer server with HP Jetadmin and all printers are HP Laserjets with Jetdirects.

Any idea?

Thanks,

JORDI

You may not need any extra tools. If you are printing via a server (Win NT/2k/XP or NetWare) the server knows the jobs printed by each user - jobs, not necessarily number of pages. Newer HP printers (some other brands have had this for a long time) store a log of jobs. If yours does, it will be accessible by pointing your internet browser at the printer's IP address.

If neither of these is of any use, there are several quite expensive print monitoring packages available. Unfortunately I do not know of any free or shareware ones

Just to help anyone out, we found one that, given what is saves us, was inexpensive:  Software Shelf's PrintManagerPro.  Handles thousands of our users, allows a lot of tweaking.  The big thing is, you'll want to be on a domain.
