accessing serial port

hi, i'm karen. How can we access the serial port of the computer. I wish to write a program that can configure the serial port, send and receive data through the serial port. Sending of data can be via a file or from the keyboard.  The received data will be displayed on the screen.

hi,

If you are using C++ builder you can use the free TurboPower Components Apro.  You can download them for free from sourceforge.net
