Check this

Stored folder in computer:
--------------------------------

Open Outlook express
go to tools --> options ---> Maintainence
Click on Store folder and you can see the path there

Generally it would be in

"C:\Documents and Settings\< user-name> \Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{2E97D07A-1942-41B9-AC15-ACFB29EDA504}\Microsoft\Outlook Express "

But if you had changed then it is better to see in that store folder path

Here "Local settings" is a hidden folder ..

Greetings, kanary!
If you want copy OE express emails to a safe place, do a search for dbx files.  Copy all the files in that folder to a safe place.

Best wishes, war1
