dvd burner
I just reformatted my hardrive and for some reason my dvd burner wont play dvd's, It will burn them but wont play in any program the dvd in any program. I am trying powerdvd, which usually works. I think i had this problem before but i dont remember how i fixed it. i tried lookin for drivers, there were none so now i'm here

Was there an error displayed? Are you running WinXP?
i would suggest updating your video card drivers....If you are running windows XP, you may not have installed any video card drivers? or did you? The DVD Decoder part of the software may not be installed....so in installing the correct drivers may resolve that issue.

its just the regular windows error.. powerdvd experienced and error and needs to be closed.

Try a different DVD player? Try reinstalling Power DVD?

yes i have tried reinstalling several times. I have also tried Interactual... it just freezes the same way
What video card do you have? Were you ever able to play dvd movies using it?

i have a geforce 4 ti4200, and yes i could play dvds before. I had this problem before i completely forgot how to fix it
Can you check the event log for an indication of where the error is occurring?

I got it fixed. There was is a codec pack i have installed. One of the audio codecs was conflicting. thanks
