Basic resources and Small Movie

Hey everyone,

I just had a couple of questions on Flash - Can anyone recommend some good websites for learning Flash basics?  I used it to some extent a couple of years ago but have forgotten it all.  I'd like to find some sites that can help me relearn it.

I had an idea for a movie I'd like to make, but am not sure about how to go about doing it, hence my need to refresh myself.  Offhandly, have any of you ever used an animation technique that incorporates "drawing" lines?  I have a black and white drawing, and the effect I'm going to want to create is for the picture to kind of draw itself.  This is a little hard to explain... I'm going to want to take a line from the picture, have it begin at a point, and then trace forward and stop.  Like someone was drawing the picture with a pencil.

If you have any offhand ideas for what I should focus on to accomplish this, let me know that too.  I'm mostly interested in the sites for learning, but since I know pretty precisely what I'm going to do, I might could spend more time focusing on what will get me that result.

Thanks for the help,
Jeff

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hello Jeff,

Also, I recommend buying the book "Flash MX Bible" by Joseph W. Lowery (provided you are using MX).  It's a GREAT book covering an amazing amount of ground in Flash MX.  Good Luck,
