Compaq Armada M300 with wrong serial number in BIOS
Hello I have a Compaq Armada M300 that the BIOS serial number is not the same as listed on the box. This was purchased from a reputable dealer with many others that are fine. Is there a utility to reset the serial number correctly without sending it back to a compaq dealer?

Almost but I want to actually write the appropriate serial number into the BIOS. Some systems such as IBM provide a means to Flash the BIOS with an update so that you can manually change the reported serial number. That is what I am looking for.

Yes, that is the answer I have been getting from all over. Too bad the computer is in use by a client and at this time cannot be taken out of production use. I guess I will have to wait. If there are no other responses in the next couple of days I will award the points.
