Modifying Flash UI Components

How can I modify a Flash Component's attribute?

I have a scrollpane (which I got from Flash Components, just dragged it to the stage) and I need to either change its background color or make the background transparent. Oh, and it would be a nice thing to make the scroll darker or something.

you can play with these values and variables:

// create a new instance of the FStyleFormat Class
var stile = new FStyleFormat();

// change it's properties
stile.arrow = 0x4D6185;
stile.check = 0x4D6185;
stile.scrollTrack = 0xEEEEEE;
stile.background = 0xFFFFFF;
stile.darkshadow = 0x7C9FD3;
stile.shadow = 0xFFFFFF;
stile.highlight = 0xFFFFFF;
stile.highlight3D = 0x7C9FD3;
stile.face = 0xB1CDFA;
stile.foregroundDisabled = 0x999999;
stile.backgroundDisabled = 0xFFFFFF;
stile.textColor = 0x000033;
stile.textDisabled = 0x666666;
stile.selection = 0x316AC5;

// associate style and component
stile.addListener(pane_instance_name);
